"What a record you have made. Truly, and i mean truly, one of the most satisfying listens i've had in a long time. It is a beautiful alchemy of your musical and personal spirits. I started to type out my reaction to the individual songs but found that my reaction is the same to each one, because it is a collective of songs that join together as one.  A TRUE album.  the songs are all at once familiar and new. The trajectory is always reaching far into the musical cosmos but the listen goes down like a simple starry night.  Obvious words don't do.... so leave it with thank you for the great album."

Apples is a CD that strikes the same tonal nerves as The Eagles... or Bob Dylan with harmonies. I have had the pleasure of hearing Earl Grey play some of these songs solo and this CD takes those songs one more step. David Piper is the perfect compliment to the songsmith Earl Grey. The addition of other local LA area musicians Matt Brown, Burleigh Drummond, Zach Spencer, Greg Kruger, and Freebo take the Piper-Grey penned songs to the next level... adding richness and color to an already wonderful tapestry of music and emotion.

5 stars for this one. I am looking forward to hearing what comes next from these talented musicians.

I wish to proclaim that the music scene in LA is alive and well with the addition of Piper Grey. "Apples" is a fun CD with just right mix of complimentary vocals and some really cool acoustic guitar work. You'll find a bit of Dylanesque commentary, some CSN style singing and a little bit of Simon & Garfunkel story telling. A whole lotta love and effort went into this work. If you're fortunate enough to stumble onto one of their show, by all means take it in. These guys will appeal to the intellectual rebel in all of us.
